large size asset
  • Surface links to your CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, cloud consoles, repos, and deployment dashboards in one place, all contained within your Kamatera network, alongside your infrastructure.
  • Give your clients a branded dashboard linking to their project tools, reporting interfaces, and communication channels. Deploy a separate Dashy instance per client where you control the branding, the access, and the data.
  • Aggregate your own digital life, including work tools, personal projects, news feeds, weather, calendar widgets, into a single page that opens exactly the way you want it. A Kamatera VPS gives you a permanent, always-on home for it.
  • Add notes, documentation references, and quick-access widgets so your dashboard becomes a lightweight knowledge base as well as a navigation tool, with no third-party login required, since it lives inside your own infrastructure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the minimum system requirements for deploying Dashy?

System requirements vary slightly depending on how you deploy it (Docker, bare metal, or static hosting), but overall resource needs are low.

Dashy via Docker (recommended)
RAM: ~1 GB for smooth operation
CPU: 1 CPU core
Storage: ~1 GB of free disk space (additional temporary usage during build)

Dashy on bare metal/from source
RAM: ~526 MB minimum
CPU: 1 CPU core
Storage: ~2 GB of free disk space
Additional: Node.js (LTS version recommended)

Static hosting/CDN deployment
No specific system requirements. Dashy can be served as static files on virtually any web server or CDN.

Dashy also runs well on low-power devices such as a Raspberry Pi (3 or newer), making it suitable for home labs and lightweight server environments.

For more detailed information, please refer to the installation guide.

Can I run Dashy alongside other services on the same Kamatera server?

Yes. Dashy is lightweight enough to share a server with other applications. Many users run it alongside services like UpTime-Kuma, Portainer, or NGINX on the same VM. Just make sure the server has enough resources for everything you’re running, and use a reverse proxy like Caddy to manage routing between services.

Can I keep Dashy private so only I can access it?

Yes, and for most use cases this is the right approach. The simplest method is to restrict access by IP at the firewall level. Kamatera’s firewall tools let you limit inbound traffic to specific addresses. Alternatively, you can put Dashy behind a VPN so it’s only reachable from devices on your private network. Dashy also has built-in authentication options if you want password protection at the application level.

Can I use Dashy to monitor my other Kamatera services?

Yes. Dashy can display uptime status for any URL or service, making it easy to see at a glance which of your Kamatera-hosted applications are running. You can also link directly to monitoring tools like Grafana or UpTime-Kuma from your dashboard, or embed their data via widgets if they expose an API.

What operating system should I use for my Kamatera server?

Ubuntu LTS is the most common choice and has the broadest community support for Docker-based deployments. Debian is another solid option. Either works well for hosting Dashy.

Which payment options are accepted by Kamatera?

Our system accepts credit/debit cards issued by your local bank branch with a cardholder’s name. We also accept payments through PayPal. We do not accept virtual, prepaid, or electronic cards.

You can use the Kamatera pricing calculator to select the exact server specifications you need and find out how much you can expect to spend.

Can I try Kamatera’s infrastructure for free?

Kamatera offers a free 30-day trial period. This free trial offers services worth up to $100 on 1 server.
