Frequently asked questions
RSS-Bridge is open-source software that generates RSS or Atom feeds from websites that don’t offer them. It extracts content from web pages and converts it into standardized feed formats that RSS readers can consume. Originally created to bridge the gap between modern websites and RSS technology, it now supports hundreds of popular websites through pre-built “bridges” and allows creation of custom bridges for any site.
General requirements for running RSS-Bridge include PHP 7.4 (or higher). For more detailed information, refer to the RSS-Bridge documentation.
RSS-Bridge includes built-in bridges for over 200 websites including Twitter/X, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, GitHub, Medium, WordPress sites, Tumblr, Mastodon, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, DeviantArt, Flickr, Pinterest, and many news sites and blogs.
Each bridge is designed specifically for its target site, handling that site’s unique structure and authentication requirements. If a site you want isn’t supported, you can create a custom bridge using RSS-Bridge’s PHP-based bridge API, which ranges from very simple (for basic websites) to more complex (for sites with authentication or dynamic content).
This depends heavily on your server resources and how frequently feeds update. A modest 1-core, 1GB RAM instance easily handles 100+ feeds with reasonable update intervals. A 2-core, 2GB instance can manage several hundred feeds. A 4-core, 8GB instance could handle thousands. The actual bottleneck is usually network bandwidth and the responsiveness of source websites rather than server capacity. RSS-Bridge includes caching mechanisms that significantly reduce redundant requests.
Absolutely. Kamatera’s cloud platform allows for rapid vertical scaling. You can adjust the vCPU, RAM, and storage with minimal downtime to handle unexpected surges in inference requests.
Our system accepts credit/debit cards issued by your local bank branch with a cardholder’s name. We also accept payments through PayPal.
During the 30-day trial period, you may create one server with a configuration costing up to $100. You will have 1 TB of free traffic (including both inbound and outbound traffic). Customers must provide a valid credit card to start the trial, but the card will not be charged if you stay within the usage limits stated above. If you wish to cancel the free trial, you can simply terminate your server without incurring any charges. However, if you do not cancel before the trial ends, we will begin charging for services used.
